E.J. Peiker announces AZ DuckShopsTM 2007

Ring-necked Duck

Phoenix, Arizona is a very popular winter home for many species of waterfowl.  By December, most molt into their most beautiful breeding plumage and if you know the proper techniques and the proper spots, they can be photographed at very close range.  This is the premier spot in the world for photographing Northern Pintail.

DuckShops 2004 - Arizona is a 1 ½ day workshop that will bring you in close contact with beautiful wild waterfowl and allow you to get great photographs.  The DuckShop consists of an evening of education on how to best approach and photograph ducks, instructed by E.J. Peiker.  Exposure, composition, and equipment will be covered thoroughly on Saturday evening.  A slide show of the various species you are likely to encounter along with descriptions of the photographic techniques required to get them will be presented.  This will be followed by a Sunday morning and a Sunday afternoon shoot in a local wildlife park with an optional instructional lunch session where we will review photos taken in the morning for those digital photographers that wish to participate.  While this park harbors many captive animals that you are free to enjoy between the shooting sessions, the ducks are all wild and make their winter home in the ponds of this park.  Emphasis will be placed on the students getting maximum photographic opportunities.  Previous DuckShops have had a minimum of 12 species and a maximum of 16 species available to photograph.
